our Process

Please email or call with your order inquiries. 

• The minimum order is 1000 board feet. Smaller orders are taken on a case by case basis. Please call or email with quantities to ensure there is available capacity. 
  

• Upon inquiry, WBKD will provide a written quote or invoice for approval via email.  Upon acceptance, customers will return the signed PO and submit the non-refundable deposit. Along with your purchase order you will receive an invoice for deposit. We operate on a first come first serve basis. 
  

• Please note that no order will be initiated prior to the signed acceptance document and receipt of the required deposit. A non refundable deposit is required before orders can be received on site.

All material must arrive “kiln-ready”, free of nails and other foreign debris. The kiln measures 16 ½’ L x 5’ W x 5’ H. It is recommended that milled boards are thoroughly air dried before kiln drying to ensure greater stability. Moisture content must be between 12%-30%. Moisture readings will be taken at time of material drop off. WBKD reserves the right to reject orders based on their condition and size. Additional arrangements and fees may apply.  

Please note that WBKD does not offer milling or resurfacing services. 

Kiln Drying Waiver - Wood is a living and natural material. WBKD is not responsible for checking, warping, discoloration changes in size, pin holes, pith cracks, shakes or any other changes in material upon its removal from the kiln. A signed waiver must be received prior to or at the time of drop off. 

WBKD does not offer storage. All orders must be collected promptly upon completion. Pick-ups are by appointment only. Wood will be held indoors for 2 weeks before it will be moved outdoors and subject to the elements. Any orders unclaimed after 8 weeks will be forfeited. WBKD retains the right to payment to the cost of the order and as otherwise provided by the signed Terms & Conditions at the time of drop-off and to market and sell the order contents to a third party with no offset or reduction to the amounts due by the customer. 

Additional material storage requests will be considered on a case by case basis. A $100 fee will be applied to eligible requests for each month that material is held on the premises. A written agreement between eligible parties and WBKD must be made prior to storage.

Orders can only be canceled prior to the start of the drying process.  All cancellations must be made in writing.  All deposits are non-refundable. If in its sole discretion, WBKD chooses to refund a portion of a deposit, such refund shall not constitute a waiver of its continuing right to retain deposits on any other order(s). Material must be collected promptly upon cancellation. Storage fees will apply. 

Final payments are due prior to material pick-up. We accept cash, checks and bank transfers, There is a $50 service charge for all returned checks and WBKD reserves the right to withhold material until payment remittance.

WBKD collects and strictly adheres to NYS sales tax laws. 

Shipping and or trucking is the sole responsibility of the customer. Drop off & pick-up is the responsibility of the customer. WBKD does not offer delivery or shipping.
